The Importance of Buying Authentic Berkey® Products

By Jeff Wise May 21, 2020

Make sure you're buying Authentic Berkey® systems and accessories.  There's no alternative for Berkey® quality!

Here are the vital things you need to be aware of to make sure you're getting the real authentic thing.

Berkeys are high quality, top-notch products, but just like any product, there are some scammers who try to claim they work with Berkey® and offer genuine products.

It is possible to know if the dealer selling to you is genuine or not. There are several ways to make sure you’re getting an authorized, authentic Berkey® product.

Official Berkey Dealer Badge

Only Use Official Authorized Berkey Dealers

First, NMCL, the manufacturer has multiple authorized Berkey® dealers. Each of these dealers works directly with NMCL and are given an authorized dealer seal.

This seal should be located on their Web site.  Not on a back page but the home page.

If you do not see the seal, chances are the site is not approved for selling Berkeys and it would be a wise idea to find an authorized dealer before purchasing.

You can know that with this seal, you can trust the dealer and you’ll get a high-quality system.

Official Athorized Berkey Product Hologram

Don't Buy Black Berkey® Elements Without This

Another way to know that you've received a Berkey®-approved product is the laser-etched hologram. This circular hologram is found on the Black Berkey® purification element box.

If you see this hologram when your Berkey® arrives, you know you have an authentic product.

Official Black Berkey Elements and Box

If You Don't See This Picture...Don't Buy

The Black Berkey® purification elements have been copied by others, but to make sure you’re getting quality Berkey® filters, look for the picture of the elements with the official company packaging.

This image is only provided by NMCL to authorized Berkey® dealers, so if you see it you know you’re getting the product you want.

It can be tempting to look for the best price when searching for a Berkey®, but in some cases a lower price means a knock-off product, which means there’s no guarantee for pure water.

The only way to make sure you're getting the value and quality of a Berkey® product is to look for these three images: the authorized dealer logo, the circular hologram, and the Black Berkey® elements packaging image.
