Travel Berkey Water Filter Is Quite Nice
The Berkey water filters are in high demand and sometimes I've actually looked and found one or two of their models sold out because they are on back order.
I view having the ability to provide clean water for myself and my family as a top priority and there's no way I'd want to be left without.
The Travel Berkey is actually the first "real" water purifier I ever bought. Oh, I bought other filters but I learned that it was a big hoax.
Their commercials made all these outrageous promises, but when I read their white papers I figured out that they hardly filter anything at all.
This is when I was first introduced to the Berkey.
Who is the Travel Berkey Designed for?
This version of the Berkey is designed for people to take with them on vacation.
If you go camping a lot or have a summer home in a remote area this filtration system is designed specifically for you. Many sports clubs like and use this particular filtration system.
They are great for providing a reliable source of water for club members, and for setting up on stage tables for big competitions.
If you are a walker, sportsperson or backpacker the Go Berkey or the Sport Berkey is a better option.
These filtration systems are compact and are designed to be carried by the user. They are only slightly bigger than a bottle of water.
Travel Berkey Water Filter SpecsThe Travel Berkey includes two black purification elements that use the latest technology to create the cleanest water possible.
The system itself is made of a highly polished stainless steel and is very attractive.
When assembled, it stands 18" high and the diameter is 7.5".
When not assembled, it stands 12" tall. The Travel Berkey system can hold as much as 1.5 gallons of water.
There are two chambers that sit on top of each other.
It's very easy to assemble and take apart.
The two purification elements that can filter 2 3/4 gallons each hour. Here is a short list of what these filters eliminate:
- Harmful microscopic pathogens like E-coli, Cryptosporidium, Giardia and other pathogenic bacteria
- Toxic chemicals are eliminated like Trihalomethanes, VOCs, detergents, pesticides, etc.
- Radiologicals: Radon 222
- Heavy metals: Aluminum, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Lead, and Mercury
- Unpleasant taste and odors, cloudiness, silt, sediment and chlorine
Whether you are local or international-bound, you can be sure that the water you put in your Berkey will come out clean and pure.
It especially comes in handy in areas where environments are harsh and water pressure and electricity are hard to come by.
What Users Say
The reviews for the Travel Berkey water filtration system are virtually all 100% positive.
Not one of the reviews we read said that the system had failed to provide them with safe water.
Most of the reviewers used this filtration system to generate safe drinking water when camping.
There were a few complaints about the tap leaking and the fact that it was easy to dent the unit in transit.
Both of these issues can be easily dealt with. Buying a spare tap makes sense if you are going on a long trip. You should also consider taking a spare filter with you.
My Personal Experience With This Water PurifierAs I said earlier, this was the first real water purifier I ever bought and it worked like a dream.
In fact, I still have it and plan to use it on my next trip out of town. It fits perfectly on any counter and is really nice looking so it fits with virtually any kitchen.
It's also very portable so you can take it camping or on vacation.
The only reason we moved up to the Berkey Light was because our family was growing and we needed more water capacity for our every day needs.
This system is perfect for a single person or a family of two or three.
Another bonus to this system is that if you want to filter out fluoride and arsenic then you can buy special filters that connect to the lower chamber of the Berkey system.
The Travel Berkey water filter is a system you should consider getting today because there is no way you want to go much further drinking that filthy tap water.
