When purchasing a Berkey water filter, there are several accessory options to accommodate your new purification system. These accessories in one way or another improve the look or ease of a Berkey filter.

• Each Berkey Light comes with a Berkey Base, which rests beneath the filter to give extra support. Constructed of transparent durable Lexan® polymer, the same material used to make bulletproof glass, the Berkey Base is durable and shatter resistant. More than 5” high, it allows your filter to be placed on the ground and it raises the spigot so the filters don’t need to be set on the edge of a table. The Berkey Base is also compatible with the Travel Berkey and Big Berkey, but it is not included with their purchase.
• A nice addition to the Berkey Base is the optional LED lights. Eight lights illumine the filter and are great for camping or using as a night light in your home. They use little amounts of energy but last a long time. The LED lights can also be used separately as a flashlight. These lights come in all white, cobalt blue, or now, for a limited time, you can purchase multi-colored LED lights for the holidays.

There are several options for powering the Berkey Base LED lights. First, they can be powered by the internal rechargeable batteries which are included with the lights. Also included with this purchase is the AC Adapter which powers the LED base with a standard AC current. When turned off, the AC Adapter automatically recharges the batteries.

• One accessory not included with the base that would make a great addition is the Berkey Battery Adapter Case. This case allows the LED lights to be powered by conventional AA batteries. A set of four batteries will provide light for eight hours a night for two weeks.
• There is still another accessory for powering the Berkey LED Base. When electricity is not available, the Berkey MP Solar charger is necessary. Receiving power from the sun, this solar charger includes six rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NMH) batteries for backup at night and when there's no available sunlight.

This awesome solar charger can also charge AAA batteries, mobile phones, digital cameras, laptop computers, shavers and much more. It is a convenient and easy to use charger. Also available for purchase is a set of six replaceable NMH batteries.

• Apart from the Berkey Base, another accessory is the new 12” Full Color Berkey Coaster which rests beneath any Berkey water filter to absorb and evaporate any water spills. Displaying a beautiful scenic picture with the New Millennium Concepts logo, the coaster is made of non-woven, felt-like material and doesn’t leak through. It enhances the look of your Berkey and protects your floors, tables or counters. It is machine washable and dryable.
• Berkey offers replacement kits if yours starts wearing out. There are two replacement kits: one for Berkey Light and the other for Berkey's stainless filter systems. The two kits include a spigot, washers, wing nuts and more.
